Tim Walz is an American politician, retired military non-commissioned officer and a former educator. He is serving as 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019. In addition, he is a nominee for vice-president in US Presidential Elections of 2024. Walz is a Democratic vice-president nominee. From 2007 to 2019, he was the member of the United States House of Representatives. Moreover, Walz was also the ranking member of House Veterans Affairs Committee from 2017 to 2019.

Timothy James Walz (Tim Walz) was born in West Point, Nebraska on 6 April 1964. His father James Frederick Walz served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a school superintendent. His mother Darlene Rose Reiman was a homemaker. Walz and his brothers grew up in a small rural town of Nebraska, Valentine. However, when his father was diagnosed with lung cancer, he and his family moved to Butte, Nebraska. It is a small rural farming community.

Tim Walz went to Butte High school and graduated in 1982. Following his high school years, he joined Chadron State College, Nebraska. Unfortunately, after the death of his father in 1984, he moved to Texas and studied at University of Houston.

Tim Walz started his teaching career at Foshan No.1 High School in Guangdong, China in 1989. This was one year teaching position with WorldTeach, a non-government organization. Upon completing his time in China, Walz started teaching in Alliance, a small city of Butte County in Nebraska. In addition to teaching Walz also became a coach in Alliance.
Following his marrige, he moved to Mankato, Minnesota and started working at Mankato West High School as a geography teaches and a football coach. Together with his wife, the couple also ran Educational Travel Adventures to China.

Tim Walz enlisted in the Army National Guards in 1881 at the age of 17. His postings were in Arkansas, Texas, north west of Mankato, New Ulm, Minnesota, near the arctic circle in Norway and in Italy. Walz served in National Guards for 24 years and was trained in heavy artillery. After serving 20 years, Walz was re-enlisted due to the 11 September 2001 attacks.
At the End of his service, his rank was command sergeant major. He was was the soldier of 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery Regiment. Ultimately, he retired from military in May 2005.
